RPNI connects vehicle owners with approved rust-protection centres and provides a verifiable record of treatment and scheduled inspections.
What RPNI does
RPNI is an independently operated rust-protection network, building Ireland-wide coverage from its first Approved Centres. RPNI trains and assesses participating garages, maintains treatment records and administers its own rust-protection programme.

Verify a treatment certificate →Independent and privately operated. RPNI is not a government body, statutory regulator, insurer or NCT affiliate.
Protection for Irish conditions
Atlantic moisture, road salt and hidden seams create the ideal conditions for corrosion. Treatment by a trained applicator reaches the underbody and cavities before damage becomes expensive.
Protection is applied where moisture collects: cavities, joints, wheel arches and exposed underbody areas.
Corrosion prevention helps preserve the vehicle’s body, mounting points and hard-to-repair structural areas.
Your numbered RPNI certificate creates a record that can be checked by an owner, buyer or Approved Centre.
Professional treatment
The documented process combines proper preparation, access to hidden areas and products selected for cavities, seams and exposed underbody surfaces.
Product images show examples from the Mercasol range. RPNI Approved Centres use appropriate Mercasol or Noxudol systems selected for each vehicle.
Before & after
A clear look at vulnerable metal before treatment and the protected finish afterwards. RPNI-approved applicators use Mercasol or Noxudol corrosion-protection systems selected for the vehicle, its cavities and exposed underbody surfaces.

The RPNI programme connects professional application with inspection evidence, a durable vehicle record and a simple public verification check.
Explore the treatment →The vehicle is checked for eligibility and condition before the corrosion-protection system is applied.
Compatible Mercasol and Noxudol products are selected for the surfaces and protection zones.
The Approved Centre records the vehicle, treatment date, system used, photographs and inspection due date.
A Vehicle Rust Protection Certificate & Inspection Record is issued with a unique number for online verification.
Renewable protection programme
Up to 16 years
Eligible vehicles may receive a two-year renewable rust-protection warranty, subject to eligibility, owner-care requirements and inspection every two years, up to a maximum total period of 16 years.
Full eligibility, owner-care and warranty terms will be published before the programme launches.
